Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Cinemoji mobile app ("Cinemoji", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. Cinemoji is published by Stratega (Chris Guida), based in California, USA. If you have any questions, contact us at chris@stratega.io.

The short version

Cinemoji has no accounts and no sign-up. We don't collect your name, email, or phone number, and we run no backend server that stores your data. Everything about your game — your progress, streak, and stats — is saved only on your device. The single exception is advertising: we show ads through Google AdMob, which collects limited data to serve them, and only after you've made your tracking and consent choices.

1. Information stored on your device

Cinemoji is an offline, local-first game. The following is saved on your device only (using on-device storage) and is never transmitted to us or any server:

Because this data lives only on your device, uninstalling the app, or using Settings → Delete my data, erases it. We cannot access or recover it.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Cinemoji is free and supported by ads delivered through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process limited information, which can include:

This data is collected by Google as a third party, not by us — we do not receive or store it. Ads are capped at a "PG" maximum content rating in the app. To learn how Google uses this information, see Google's "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" and the Google Privacy Policy.

3. Your consent and choices

Apple App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS, Cinemoji shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before initializing ads. If you allow tracking, you may see more relevant (personalized) ads; if you decline, you'll see non-personalized ads instead. You can change this anytime in your device's iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Google consent (EU / UK / GDPR)

Where required (for example, in the EU and UK), Cinemoji presents Google's consent form before any ads load. If you decline, ads are not initialized. You can re-open your ad-privacy options from the app's Settings screen where available.

4. What we don't do

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, export, or delete your information. Because Cinemoji stores your data only on your device, you can exercise these directly in the app:

We hold no server-side copy of your game data. For questions about advertising data held by Google, please use Google's privacy controls linked above. You can also reach us at chris@stratega.io.

California & US state privacy rights

Some US state laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA — treat showing personalized ads as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information whenever advertising identifiers are disclosed to an ad network like Google for cross-context behavioral advertising, even when no money changes hands. We do not sell your personal information for money. To the extent that serving personalized ads counts as a sale or share, you have the right to opt out, and the controls are built in: decline Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt (iOS), decline or change your choice in the Google consent form, or turn off tracking in your device settings. Choosing any of these limits ads to non-personalized and stops identifier sharing for personalized advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Cinemoji is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children. Titles rated TV-MA are excluded from the puzzle set. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we'll address it.

7. Intellectual property

Cinemoji uses only emoji and plain text titles for gameplay. It includes no posters, stills, logos, or other studio artwork. Cinemoji is an independent game and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any movie studio, television network, or streaming service. All trademarks and titles referenced belong to their respective owners.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
